An information-packed day to help people Live Well is planned for Truro next month.
Saturday 9 April will see three teams from the NHS Health Promotion Service come together for a fun day to help kick-start everyone into a healthier future.
Eatsome, LEAP Active and Weight Matters will host the free event, from 10am till 4pm, in the middle of the busy Truro Piazza on Lemon Quay.
It promises to be an exciting day for everyone, whether they are there for advice on healthy eating, physical activity and weight management or just out for the day.
The aim of the Live Well event is to raise awareness of the healthy lifestyle services provided by the NHS and to encourage the public to lead healthier lives.
If you have been too busy to visit the doctor for a health check you can drop in on the day and get your blood pressure, body mass index, and cholesterol checked by NHS health professionals who will also be there to offer advice if you have any concerns - with no appointment needed.
Or you may just want to have a chat with the Weight Matters team who have lots of helpful hints on how to manage your weight.
There will be lots of information on things everyone has trouble with, for example food labelling, portion sizes, what's hidden in our foods, active travel and adapting recipes.
There will also be helpful guidance on infant nutrition, weaning and child health with heaps of fun and interactive games.
You will also have the opportunity, free of charge, to blend and taste your own smoothie by having a go on the smoothie bike, whilst learning about a balanced diet.
You can also have a race on the bike simulator and find out about local cycle and walking routes to help you take advantage of the beautiful Cornish countryside. To help you along the way, there is a chance to win a brand new bike - plus advice on how to keep that in tip-top condition too.
