Dance Club Saturdays
Saturdays 5 February - 26 March
From Brazilian Hip Hop to carnival and reggae, the Eden Project is the venue for a new dance club for young people in St Austell and the surrounding area.
Aimed at 13 to 19-year-olds, the Saturday sessions take place from 10am until 11:30am at The Core, Eden's education, arts and events centre from February 5 to March 26.
Run in collaboration with The Works, Dance and Theatre Cornwall, who support the participation of performing arts throughout the county, the programme will give budding dancers the chance to try out a variety of styles including contemporary and Afro-Brazilian dance.
It is funded by Sports Unlimited through Cornwall Sports Partnership and aimed at helping young people learn new skills, gain confidence and improve their health while having fun.
Each session costs £3 and includes free entry to Eden for the day.
Beth Lewitt, Eden's Events Manager, said: "It's great to be able to host a club like this at Eden. As well as giving people the chance to try out unusual dances they might not otherwise experience, it's a great way to inject some Brazilian sunshine into the cold winter months."
The club is open to all levels of dancers and no previous experience is needed. Participants should bring comfortable clothing and trainers.
To book a place, contact the Eden box office on 01726 811972.
