From Zumba, cheerleading, kickboxing, aerobics and Samba to wheelchair basketball, rounders, tennis, Frisbee, hockey and tag rugby... We've got it all going on!
15 - 19 August, Boscawen Park & Lemon Quay
The week kicks off with two "Active Days" on Lemon Quay on Monday and Tuesday with a sports market and taster sessions of different activities.
Wednesday will be a dedicated "Healthy Lifestyle Day" with experts from Cornwall's Health Promotion Service setting up alongside Truro Farmers' Market offering advice and information on nutrition, healthy workplace initiatives, BMI checks and fitness programmes.
This is followed by "Wheels Day" on Thursday, with taster sessions of wheelchair basketball and cycling on the Quay alongside demonstrations from Truro's Clive Mitchell Cycles.
On Friday, the festival will culminate in a classic sports day for businesses and traders to get involved. Teams of four can compete for the Be Active Truro trophy in traditional sports day events such as the egg and spoon and three-legged races. Get your company joining in!
A number of different sports will also be around throughout the week, promoting their easy-to-play and less competitive activities, including: ‘No Strings Badminton', ‘Ball Again Basketball', ‘Easy Cricket' and ‘Back 2 Netball'.
The Be Active Truro festival has been organised by Truro City Council, Cornwall Sports Partnership, Totally Truro Business Improvement District and Event Cornwall; with participating businesses, including Motivation Fitness in Robert's Ope.
