First chance to take part in county's innovative sports conference

Monday 21st March 2011

One of Europe's leading mind coaches will soon be opening Cornwall's Club and Coach Conference, delivering expert advice and guidance to all those who work and volunteer in sport.

Organised by the Cornwall Sports Partnership, the conference will take place on Sunday May 15 at Truro College, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.  Building on the success of the 2009 event, an exciting line-up of informative and innovative workshops is on offer.  It's expected to be a huge hit with the sporting community and bookings are already coming in fast.

Opening the event as key note speaker will be leading mind coach, Dr Karl Morris. With clients including Red Bull and Volvo, and golfers Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood and Paul McGinley, he will be discussing his cutting edge methods of goal achievement and providing a range of practical and applicable tools for performance breakthrough.

Together with an interactive market place, a variety of workshops will be taking place throughout the day, led by a number of inspirational speakers sharing their experience, tips and insight.

During the workshops, club volunteers will have the opportunity to learn how to maximise their membership and success, and discover where to obtain on-hand practical advice and help. And for coaches, an assortment of ground-breaking techniques and practical tips will be revealed.

Conference organiser, Natasha Howard from the Cornwall Sports Partnership, explains: "Our aim for the conference is to deliver an event that supports, inspires and promotes club and coaches in Cornwall. Designed specifically to help those working and volunteering in sport to take a new approach to excellence in club and coach development, it's an important step forward for Cornish sport.

"We've already received a great level of support and interest and are hoping that uptake for the day will exceed all our expectations, giving us the possibility to extend and develop the event further in the future."

Booking on to the event costs £25, which includes lunch and refreshments, and details can be found on the Cornwall Sports Partnership website. The deadline for bookings is April 22.
